Yesterday, a massive 7.0 earthquake rocked Port-Au-Prince, Haiti. Immediately, Compassion Services International (CSI) began trying to contact our leaders there. As I write this update we have not yet been able to make contact with any of the leaders, ministers or saints in Haiti. However, we have organized a three member SMART team that will go to Haiti and do a strategic assessment. The SMART team is leaving this afternoon for the Dominican Republic and they will then make their way either by air or by land to Haiti.
Our missionaries to Haiti, the Brians, are stateside and Brother Brian will be going with the SMART team to assess the situation for us. Once we have a better understanding of the extent of the damage and a priority of the peoples needs, we will then respond in kind. What we do know at this point is that the devastation is massive and funding is necessary for food, water, clothing and medical supplies.

Continue to pray for the people of Haiti and the relief effort underway there. We will keep you posted on our efforts.
